New Homes, Buckinghamshire
2 new family homes on a Grey Belt infill site
Status - Pre-application stage
The project involves the development of a currently under-utilised large residential garden site, which already accommodates several existing structures, and is situated in a sustainable suburban location, to provide two much-needed new high-quality three bedroom six person family homes.
Working again with our clients Caswell & Dainow, the proposed family dwellings have been sited to provide large visual gaps, maintaining open-ness to the Green Belt and offering breathing space to the site boundaries, whilst still relating well to the existing street-scene. The entire development shall be carefully screened behind the existing hedges.
The pitched roof forms, with gables presented toward the road, ensure the new dwellings will be well integrated into the wider street-scene.
The proposed scheme unusually provides a good size double bedroom and shower room at ground storey. This design move significantly increases flexibility, aiding accessibility and opportunities for intergenerational living in this location.
The proposed design of the buildings complements the character of the area through their appearance, use of materials and detailing, responding to distinctive local building forms and specific characteristics in a contemporary and creative way, positively contributing to a local sense of place.
The scheme is currently at pre-application stage.
